Reception Class Teacher

Our Josef-Schwarz-School is situated close to nature in Erlenbach and centrally located in Heilbronn. Both campuses share not only a bilingual concept and state-of-the-art facilities, but also the intercultural spirit of an international school community. Through close cooperation within our interdisciplinary team, we create a respectful, family-like environment and a learning space in which children can thrive from reception through to the Baden-Württemberg Abitur.

For our Primary School in Erlenbach, we are looking for an English-speaking Reception Class Teacher for our pre-school / Reception Class, in full-time or part-time, starting at the beginning of the 2026/2027 school year.

Your responsibilities

  • Teach and support children in our Reception Class / pre-school
  • Work closely with a German-speaking class teacher in a team-teaching setting
  • Prepare, deliver and follow up on lessons based on our curriculum
  • Create a positive, caring and stimulating learning environment
  • Plan, organise and supervise class projects and learning activities
  • Support each child’s individual development
  • Maintain strong and professional communication with parents
  • Contribute to the further development of pedagogical ideas and school processes
  • Assist twice a week in the afternoon programme until 5:30 pm

Your profile

  • A qualification in Early Childhood Education, Social Pedagogy, as an Early Years Educator, or a comparable qualification that enables you to work in a Reception Class
  • A genuine interest in working with children in the pre-school / kindergarten age group
  • A caring, approachable and committed personality
  • Passion for enabling children to reach their full potential
  • Interest in modern, child-centred and individualised educational approaches
  • Native-level or near-native English skills are essential
  • Interest in learning about the German language and culture
