Your position

For our bilingual Secondary School, we are looking for a qualified teacher of English Language and Literature. Knowledge of the IGCSE English A syllabus and the IB DP English curricula would be a distinct advantage. Suitably qualified candidates may also be considered for the role of IB DP Coordinator.  This is currently a part-time position, but may grow to a full-time role if you can offer a second subject. Start date: 17 August 2026

Your area of responsibility

  • teaching English Language and Literature in the Secondary School, and possibly a second subject
  • focusing on student learning and development, extending and supporting as required to help students reach their potential
  • collaborating closely with the members of the English department and other teaching staff 
  • communicating with parents and guardians
  • coordinating the IB Diploma Programme (optional)

You have

  • a teaching qualification for English in the Secondary School - please note that TEFL qualifications do not suffice
  • experience of teaching English classes aimed at students with highly proficient language skills (‘English A’) 
  • strong IT skills for effective use of our modern learning environment
  • English language skills at native-speaker level
  • knowledge of German at level B2 or a willingness to improve towards this level
  • personal qualities that motivate and inspire the students
