Science Teacher - Chemistry Specialist (m | f | d)
Schulart: Gymnasium, International School
We are looking for a qualified and committed English-speaking Science teacher with a strength in Chemistry for our bilingual Secondary School. Knowledge of the IGCSE Combined Sciences syllabus and the IB DP Chemistry curriculum would be a distinct advantage. If you are able to offer a further subject, ideally Mathematics, please include the appropriate information in your application.
You have
- a teaching qualification for Science at Secondary School level
- substantial teaching experience in the three Natural Sciences in Grades 5 to 10
- the ability to teach Chemistry to talented students in Grades 11 and 12
- experience with linguistically heterogeneous learning groups
- English language skills at native-speaker level
- good knowledge of German or a willingness to learn the language
- strong IT skills for effective use of our modern learning environment
- personal qualities that motivate and inspire the students
- open-mindedness, flexibility and the ability to work well in a team
- a high level of commitment
Your area of responsibility
- teaching the three sciences (Chemistry, Biology, Physics) in a combined syllabus to students in Grades 5 to 10
- teaching Chemistry in the IB Diploma Programme (Grades 11 and 12)
- focusing on student learning and development, extending and supporting as required in order to help students to reach their potential
- working closely with other members of the Science department and other teaching staff
- communicating with parents and guardians
