Suzhou Singapore International School (SSIS) seeks the employment of a German Homeroom teacher for an elementary class. We are looking for a native German speaker, preferably someone who is familiar with the German education system and has previous experience of teaching Elementary School students. The appointed teacher will work in a team of German teachers led by a coordinator and also collaborate with teachers in the international stream. SSIS is a fully accredited international school with approximately 600 students in the Elementary School, and 51 different nationalities represented in its student body. The school is a fully authorised IB PYP school and the students in the German classes (Grades 1-4) work with a combination of the German national curriculum and IB PYP framework. Teachers in the German and international sections of the Elementary School work in close collaboration and the students have opportunities to work together regardless of which section they are in. The school has great facilities including a dedicated an Elementary library, gymnasiums, swimming pool, large track and field facilities, a theatre and media centre. Students are encouraged to use technology throughout their learning and iPads and MacBooks are available for this. Field trips take place on a regular basis and the school offers many opportunities for extracurricular activities. Teachers are part of a professionally stimulating environment and have many opportunities for professional development both in school and further afield.
